The Last Buddha of Central Asia..Tajikistans new treasure is the Museum of National Antiquities which was inaugurated especially for the celebrations of ten year independence in September 2001. Inside the museum in Dushambe, is Central Asias largest and arguably most important Buddhist heritage. A fourteen-metre statue of a sleeping Buddha that is portrayed just moments before reaching Nirvana.
