Afghanistan Archaeology

The archaeological site of Tilia Tepe have been dig and completely destroy by locals and greedy Dostum commanders..Tilia Tepe (Gold hill) is near Sheberghan, North west of Afghanistan. .In 1996 the site was mechanically excavated by bulldozer under the command of the Afghan Uzbek commander General Rashid Dostum.The Russian Archaeologist Victor Sariyiannidis discovered more them 20,000 pieces of gold jewellery in 1979 in Tilia Tepe in Afghanistan  an area once occupied by the Hellenistic state of Bactria (Bactriana).
